Joel Brown was born in Provo, Utah. When he was 3 years old his family moved to Chicago and when he was six years old, they moved to Mesa, Arizona. While he was on a church mission to Ireland his family moved to St. George, Utah where he attended Dixie College upon returning. He has lived in the Uintah Basin since 2008. He loves Vernal and is passionate about the many wonderful places and things to do that the area has to offer.
Active in the community and the Chamber of Commerce, Joel serves on several committees including Conservation Committee, Holly Days, Trees for Charity, Downtown Alliance, Business Development, and the Hotel Vernal Haunt where he oversees the security at the Haunt. He is on the Charitable Friends of Ashley Valley Board of Directors. Active in his church, he has served in many capacities including counselor in the Bishopric. He loves to be involved and serve where he can make a difference. He is a firm believer that when the tide rises, all ships rise with it.
Joel is also the Co-Founder along with Bruce Tippets, of Dreams in Motion. Founded in 2020, Dreams in Motion is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit that focuses on people who have gone through life altering experiences, whether that be a kidney transplant, heart surgery, cancer or any other hard experience and have been able to overcome their challenges. Dreams in Motion provides these individuals with a first-class experience at a college or professional sporting event. Their most recent Hero that they have recognized was Justin Mamea, a Senior at Uintah High School. He has been dealing with two forms of Leukemia. Dreams in Motion was able to get Justin, his father and his uncles to the Utah Football game, where Utah knocked off Number 7 USC. They provided hotel accommodations and 4 tickets to the game.
When Joel is not volunteering or working, you will find him up on the mountain ice fishing, camping, or exploring the great outdoors. He loves spending time with his wife Missy and their 3 boys.
