Jeremy Raymond is the Executive Director of the Uintah Fire Suppression Special Service District in Uintah County. He has been the Director for 19 years and prior to joining the District he was the Fire Marshal and Emergency Manager for Uintah County. Some of his responsibilities include fire inspections, fire investigations, hazardous materials response, airport fire and rescue, and managing and directing the fire district. He is also a paramedic and runs part time for Gold Cross Ambulance in Vernal.
Jeremy's passion is public safety. He spends many hours assisting and training first responders throughout the county. He also travels around the state of Utah training and testing volunteer fire departments for The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy. He actively participates in the community serving on committees and volunteering. He enjoys educating the public through trainings and advertising.
Jeremy holds two associate degrees from Utah Valley University as well as many certifications including: Structural firefighter 1&2, Hazmat Technician, Rope Rescue Technician, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Airport Rescue Firefighter. He has served as a committee member and also chair of the State of Utah 9-1-1 Committee. He is currently a council member on the Certification Council with the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy.
In 2023 Jeremy was awarded the Distinguished Manager Award by the Utah Association of Special Districts. He has also received the Kevin Orr Memorial Award for dedication and devotion to the citizens of the Uintah Basin.
Jeremy is an Eagle Scout and spent two years as a full-time Spanish-speaking missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Carlsbad Mission. He devotes time to serving in his church callings, including over 12 years working with the young men. He is the son of Mark and MaryAnn Raymond. He lives in Vernal with his wife, Lynelle, and four kids: Kayloni, Hyrum, Jakob, and Savannah. In his spare time Jeremy loves to go fishing, hiking, boating, and spending time with his family.
